Daily Sudoku 4/17/09

Back at it again today.  Green Belt Sudoku book – puzzle #9 – 5:35.  Did this one while eating yogurt.

The Daily Sudoku site has a meduim puzzle today.  Since yesterday’s was hard, I figured today’s would be very hard.  That seems to be the cycle they go through.  I had to keep stopping to do some work (on my lunch hour) so I was about 8 minutes into it when I noticed a problem with 8’s and 9’s.  After restarting I lost my concentration and had to get a hint at 8:27.  And it was unneeded, just had to open my eyes to see it.  Almost got anther hint, but I finally solved it in 10:56.  Not sure what is wrong with me today.  Also afraid to play anymore!  LOL

Today’s puzzle in the Tulsa World is very hard – 5 evil smilies…..  I won’t be bothering with it.  LOL

On to thinks.com.  Hopefully I’ll have better luck with today’s puzzle than I did with the puzzle from The daily sudoku site.  This one wasn’t as bad, no hints, and solved in 6:57.

I usually do four puzzles, think I will quit while I’m ahead today.

Daily Sudoku 4/16/09

I was able to solve puzzle number 7 from the Green Belt Sudoku book in 4:20.

Looked at the daily puzzle from The Daily Sudoku site – it was a hard one.  😦  Unfortunatly, so was the puzzle from the Tulsa World.

I’ll just have to do three from Thinks.com.  Starting with their daily puzzle – 4:46. 

The first random puzzle is #99 – Must not have been paying attention.  Got 6:19 into it when I noticed my 4’s and 5’s were all screwed up.  Had to start over.  Got really sleepy during that one, no suprise since I stayed up late last night.  Took me 12:19……  LOL  Not a good time for me.

Since I was getting sleepy, I thought about not doing another (and since I’m about to run out of my lunch time).  Random selector gave me puzzle #22.  Made up a little for the bad time in the last puzzle – 3:35.

I definitly need a nap……

Daily Sudoku 4/15/09

I’ve been sick, nasal and chest congestion, so I haven’t done any sudoku in the past week.  But I’m back today!

Starting with my Green Belt Sudoku book – I’m on puzzle #7, completed in 4:23.

The Daily Sudoku site had a meduim puzzle today.  Pretty average time for me, at 5:16.

I’m on a roll today, the puzzle from the Tulsa World was also medium.  I think it was on the easier side of medium since I solved it in 3:27.  But some of them just appear harder than the others.

The last one for today is from Thinks.com.  As always, their daily puzzle is medium.  I lost track of something, got 6:00 into it and had to start over.  Just must not have been paying attention, the second time I got it in 4:24.

Daily Sudoku 4/6/09

OK – Once again, I started with a puzzle from my Green Belt Sudoku book. Today’s was #5. The Daily Sudoku site rated it as easy…..  I completed in6:50, but I was also eating yogurt while I was doing it.  LOL 

Speaking of The Daily Sudoku site, their daily puzzle was rated very hard…..  So I won’t be attempting.

YAY!!  The Tulsa World‘s puzzle for the day is easy/moderate (only two evil smilies).  Got it in 5:06.

The daily puzzle at thinks.com is aways a good one for me, always medium!  🙂  Completed in 3:38.  I think after the first two my brain is in the swing of things….  LOL

I have found that the publishers of Green Belt Sudoku, Sterling Publishing, has several puzzle books that they do a daily puzzle from.  The medium level sudoku puzzle is from the book Beach Blanket Sudoku.  You can find the daily puzzles available here.  They also have crosswords and other puzzles available daily.  They open in a pdf file so I can’t link to them directly.

Daily Sudoku 4/3/09

I completed puzzle #3 in my Green Belt Sudoku book in 5:06.

The daily puzzle from The Daily Sudoku site was rated hard, so you know I didn’t try it.

The daily puzzle from The Tulsa World was FIVE evil smilieys hard!  LOL  I’m going to have to do two puzzles from Thinks.com.

The daily puzzle from thinks.com, got it solved in 7:31.  Then the random puzzle they gave me was puzzle #25.  It must have been an easier medium puzzle since I solved it in 3:03.  I also noticed that it had alot of single entries when I did the sweep.

Daily Sudoku 4/2/09

I missed my sudoku fix yesterday. I had a wisdom tooth pulled on Tuesday (3/31) and was still having some pain yesterday so I stayed home from work. These puzzles are much easier to do at work, my home computer is a lap top and the screen is a bit small to have several browser windows open at once and still see what you want/need to see.

The daily puzzle from the Tulsa World was rated hard so I’m not going to attempt.

Daily Sudoku – 3/31/09

I started with my new book, Green Belt Sudoku by Frank Longo, today.  Puzzle #2 was completed in 10:24.  It wasn’t more difficult than yesterday’s, just don’t think I was concentrating as much.  It usually takes me more than one puzzle to completely focus.

The daily puzzle from The Daily Sudoku site was rated hard so I didn’t attempt.

The puzzle from the Tulsa World was medium.  Solved it in 7:47.

The puzzle from thinks.com took me 4:01.  Think that might be a personal best.  LOL  I also did this one right after getting home from the dentist.  Had to get a wisdom tooth pulled.  Got one left, I guess that’s the one with all my wisdom stored!!  LMAO

Daily Sudoku

The daily puzzle at the Tulsa World was a good one.    Solved it easily enough but I keep forgetting to not use the pause button!  😦  I’ll remember to click it off, but I’m clicking the wrong button…..

The daily puzzle from The Daily Sudoku site was also medium.  This one kinda stumped me today.  I was 17:36 in today and down to entering the last 5 numbers with one hint (that I didn’t really need) when I noticed my solution was wrong.   Restarted and got it in 10:04 (no hint needed this time).

Third on my list is the daily puzzle from Thinks.com.  I was 6:20 in this one  when I noticed a problem  At least I wasn’t almost finished, maybe half way.  I think I’m just trying to get ahead of myself.  That darn pause button got me again.  I stopped it on 3:55 to look at something for work and never turned it back on.  But after I got going again it only took about 4 or 5 more minutes.

And finally – Puzzle #1 in my new Green Belt Sudoku by Frank Longo.  I don’t have a link for this one, and it prolly would be a violation of copyright if I posted anything that would show you the puzzle.  Whoo Hoo!  Solved it in 5:31.  I think I will only do one puzzle from the book a day unless The Tulsa World and/or the Daily Sudoku site has hard puzzles.

Green Belt Sudoku

I bought this book on Sunday (3/28/09). It’s an entire book (300 puzzles) of ALL MEDIUM level Sudoku puzzles!! It’s by Frank Longo and published by Sterling Publishing Co., Inc. I’m really looking forward to starting this book and posting my results in my daily Sudoku posts.

Daily Sudoku Puzzles

Another medium diffuclty puzzle from the Tulsa World.  I didn’t get a good time.  I had put the timer on pause and forgot to start again……  Figures.  LOL

The puzzle from The Daily Sudoku was rated very hard….  😦

The puzzle from Thinks.com – And, unfortunatly, when you clear a puzzle, it doesn’t clear the timer as well.  So that’s two I didn’t get a time for.  Better luck tomorrow.

Let me know if you play Sudoku and where is your favorite place to play.  I need to find a book with all medium puzzles, but I don’t think one actually exists.

I forget to add that Thinks.com has lots of other puzzles and games to play.  Good for family fun.  They have a daily wordsearch and crossword, along with archives.  Chess is also available.  Strategy games like that aren’t my strong suit.
